Indian security forces have arrested six people, including a young woman from Haryana, India, who ran a YouTube channel on charges of spying for Pakistan.
The arrested include a 33-year-old woman named Jyoti Malhotra, who ran a popular travel YouTube channel in India.
Indian security forces have now revealed that she and her group shared Indian military information with Pakistan.
As revealed by Indian security forces, Jyoti Malhotra visited Pakistan twice in 2023 and had developed close ties with a staff member of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi named Ehsan-ur-Rahim before her visit.
Indian media reported that Rahim was considered an illegal alien by Indian security forces after the recent Pahelgam terrorist attack and had been ordered to leave India within 24 hours.
However, during her visit to Pakistan in 2023, she met with security forces and intelligence officials, and after returning to India, she started sharing anti-Indian information with those officials. She confessed to the Indian security forces that she had met Rahim, who was accused of espionage, several times.
Indian media reported that Jyoti Malhotra had also confessed to the Indian security forces about how she had shared sensitive information about Indian locations with Pakistani officials.
Meanwhile, apart from Jyoti Malhotra, another person has been identified as a 32-year-old woman from Malerkotla, Punjab.
It has been revealed that she had gone to Pakistan to apply for a visa and there she met and identified a person named Rahim.
Later, over time, a person named Rahim had been giving money to this woman named Gusala from time to time, according to foreign media reports.
