Elon Musk's SpaceX, which has been at odds with US President Donald Trump, has successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket into space.
It will put a communications satellite into orbit for satellite radio services.
Foreign media had reported that SpaceX successfully launched a rocket carrying a communications satellite into space yesterday.
The SXM-10 satellite, which was carried by the Falcon-9 rocket from Cape Canaveral in Florida, will be put into orbit for satellite radio services.
It was manufactured by Maxar Technology.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket has also been used for NASA space missions in the past.
SpaceX's rocket mission comes amid a bitter feud between its founder Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump.
This could put Elon Musk's SpaceX at risk of losing a $22 billion government contract.
However, SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft is currently the only American spacecraft capable of carrying astronauts to the International Space Station.
