The 10 students who were arrested in connection with the incident of brutally assaulting a second-year student at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka have been remanded until the 29th.
The suspected students were remanded after being produced before the Balangoda Magistrate’s Court today (16).
Charith Dilshan, a second-year student at the Faculty of Technology and Engineering at the Sabaragamuwa University, committed suicide on April 29.
Although he had written a handwritten letter stating that he was committing suicide due to mental stress, his relatives and friends alleged that he had committed suicide because he could not bear the brutality at the university.
